How We Run a Build
How we run a residential build from initial consultation through to handover. Clear stages, fixed-price quoting, regular progress updates.
Every Riversedge Building Group project runs through the same stages — whether it's a single bathroom rebuild or a new custom home. The steps and their order don't change; only the time each stage takes varies by scale.
We work this way so you always know what's happening next, what we need from you, and where the money is in the build.
Stage 1 — Initial enquiry and site visit
We talk through what you're trying to achieve, visit the site, and work out the rough scope, budget and timeline. No charge for this stage.
Stage 2 — Design and approvals (where required)
If plans don't exist yet, we point you toward the right designer or architect, or coordinate the design ourselves. Building approval (CDC or DA) is sorted in parallel.
Stage 3 — Fixed-price quote and contract
Itemised fixed-price quote based on the approved plans. We use NSW Fair Trading-recognised residential building contracts. Statutory home-warranty cover is arranged for any job over the regulated threshold.
Stage 4 — Build
Progress payments at defined stages. Weekly written progress updates. All required statutory inspections coordinated with the certifier — footing, slab, frame, wet-area waterproofing, final.
Stage 5 — Practical completion and handover
Final inspection together, defect list (if any) rectified before handover, compliance certificates and warranty documentation provided. Defect-liability period applies as per the contract.
