Extension types we build
Ground-floor rear or side extensions (more living, more bedrooms, indoor-outdoor flow to a new deck or al-fresco area), second-storey additions on suitable existing footings, garage-to-living conversions where building approval allows, and partial demolition / partial new-build hybrids.
Council DA pathway
Some extensions can be approved as Complying Development (faster, no DA); others require a council Development Application. The classification depends on lot size, zone, overlays, and the work itself. We confirm the pathway before contract signing so the program reflects the right approval timeline.
Questions
- Can my existing home support a second storey?
- Not always. Older homes — particularly those with timber stumps or shallow footings — may need underpinning before a second storey can go up. We arrange a structural engineer inspection early in the quoting process so the answer is in your hands before contract.
